Do not Disturb!

Friday, January 22nd, 2010

Check out this fantastic detail from Gourmet Invitations.  It would be perfect to place on each guest’s bed when they arrive back after the wedding – along with some late-night munchies and water.  What a great idea!

Engagement Pics? Engagement VIDEO!

Thursday, December 24th, 2009

I came across this totally unique engagement video by Axioo this morning on Rock and Roll Bride and just had to share it with you!  Making your photos into a video is a great new idea and a fun way to get some extra mileage out of your engagement pictures…something to show on a loop during cocktail hour? maybe even after dinner?

Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Escort Card Tree Challenges

Monday, December 14th, 2009

We love trees and branches as a dramatic touch for any event.  But, when it comes to escort cards, hanging tags on a tree isn’t the best route.  Since it’s not in a logical, alphabetical order, guests won’t be able to “grab & go” and it will create a bottleneck.

If you have your heart set on an escort card tree, split it up into a few trees and label them with ranges of letters (i.e. A-L, M-P, Q-Z, etc.).  Or, you can use the tree concept to display special photos and mementos.

Library Wedding: Part 3 of 3

Thursday, November 12th, 2009

Check out these beautiful photos of the feature table that we designed for Molly & Mark’s library wedding! Vintage letterpress blocks, antique typewriter ribbon tins, embossed leather-bound journals (see a close up of them here) wrapped in belly bands with their custom damask design, personalized hexagonal pencils, collected crystal jars and an authentic 1920s typewriter all came together to create an amazing focal point for their guests!

Library Wedding: Part 2 of 3

Tuesday, November 10th, 2009

The reception of Molly & Mark’s gorgeous library wedding took place at 91 with delicious catering by the Upper Crust. Custom stationery was created exclusively for the bride & groom by Megan Guerin and appeared on everything from the escort cards to the menus to the drink coasters.  Crystal chandeliers courtesy of Jersey Street Furniture framed the space and created the “family dinner” ambiance that the thoughtful bride & groom envisioned.

A single orchid was placed on each placesetting and the centerpieces were elegant, highly-textured florals by Rountree Flowers.  Cocktail centerpieces were a nod to the vintage aspect of the wedding and were an assortment of letterpress blocks. The linens, chairs and chargers are courtesy of Party Rental Ltd.

All of these great shots are from Zlatko Batistich, photographer extraordinaire! We have one more set of photos from this marvelous wedding so stay tuned!

A Brilliant Wedding: Aaron & Valery

Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009

We were so honored to be a part of Aaron & Valery’s wedding day. This picture sums up this loveable couple perfectly – smiles, laughter and above all FUN.

Theirs was the absolute best bridal party introduction that I’ve ever witnessed: as each couple was introduced, they all joined in on a impromptu dance – all in perfect sync to the music. What a way to welcome the beautiful bride & groom into their reception!

Here is a sneak peek of this wonderful Mr. and Mrs.!

Carol & Ed’s Shabby Chic Wedding

Tuesday, July 21st, 2009

We created a shabby chic wedding theme for Carol & Ed’s wedding day at Perona Farms in Andover, NJ.  The eye candy photos below are from Mariann at Blue Daisy Weddings - she is such a talented photographer and always a dream to work with.  The pink and violet color palette was started with these spectacular invitations by Inky Livie. Florals were done by Stem and Company and featured a mixture of crystal and silver vessels gathered from antique shops and flea markets to really emphasize the shabby chic theme.  The beautiful violet pintuck linens set off the vibrant centerpieces and were courtesy of Laurie at Cloth Connection.

Sachiko Yanase worked her magic and did fantastic hair and makeup for all of the ladies and the super-friendly Mike Burns from Infinite Video captured the day on video as it unfolded. Marge Fitts provided the angelic harp music for the ceremony and cocktail hour and DJ Medina had the guests dancing all evening. The night closed with a jaw-dropping fireworks display by Celebration Fireworks.

For more amazing photos of their day, click here and stay tuned for even more photos as they become available…especially photos of their amazing shabby chic lounge area!

Think Outside the Ballroom

Friday, July 10th, 2009

Ballrooms are beautiful. But, for brides, grooms and party hosts that are looking for a little more splash of the unexpected – think outside the ballroom!

Being born and raised in Green Bay, Wisconsin, I couldn’t help but love the uniqueness of this wedding which took place at the legendary Lambeau Field, home of the Green Bay Packers.  These spectacular shots are courtesy of the lovely Aubrey from Photo by Aubrey.

Even if NFL football stadiums aren’t your thing, brainstorm about all of the different places you can have your wedding or event. Call up your local city hall, library, baseball stadium, antique barn, museum, nature reserve, old-time movie theatre, microbrewery or historical site and think outside of the ballroom!

Inspiration Board: Kyla & Jordan’s Chic Wedding

Monday, June 29th, 2009

This lovely couple is planning a gorgeous wedding this fall in New York City at Le Parker Meridien. The color palette is a progression of pure white for the ceremony to an ice blue for the cocktail hour and a bold navy/midnight blue for the reception accented with metallic touches. We’re focusing on texture and color saturations to make things really stand out. Enjoy!
