rooftop proposal

The Proposal Planner: Iain & Jane

Iain and Jane's proposal took place on a breezy autumn afternoon in Manhattan. The couple flew in from the UK on what Jane thought was just another (amazing) vacation. Little did she know, Iain had plans to make the trip their most memorable one ever! That day, the couple was scheduled to tour the parks of NYC. The final stop was to be Bryant Park where the couple had plans to get dinner after their long day of touring. Full disclosure: Iain's last name is also "Bryant" and he planned to use the park to his full advantage! When the couple arrived, our team was already covertly in place, posing as the maitre d', ready to whisk the couple up to the rooftop of the Bryant Park Grill where Jane would get a "better view" of the park. As the couple made their way to the edge of the rooftop, Jane looked down to see an enormous banner that read "Jane, Please become a Bryant. Will you marry me?". A band, that had been posing at restaurant, patrons, rose and began to sing the couple's special song as Iain got down on one knee to pop the question. Needless to say, the bride-to-be accepted Iain's proposal and they celebrated their engagement with a private lunch at the Grill.

Congratulations to Iain & Jane!

The Proposal Planner: Travis & Tamara

Travis and Tamara's proposal was a beautiful family affair. Tamara's father lives in Puerto Rico and she had not seen him a while so Travis knew he wanted to include him in this special moment. Tamara thought that they were simply in New York City for a special night out. They checked into their hotel and once they were settled in their room, they received a surprise phone call from the concierge. They were invited to a "special AMEX cocktail hour" in the hotel's rooftop venue, a stunning room with amazing views of the NYC skyline. When the elevator door opened, Tamara was stunned to see the room filled with lush florals in her favorite color, purple, and a band playing the couple's special song. Travis got down on one knee and proposed and Tamara responded with a resounding "yes"! But, the surprises for Tamara were not over yet! Tamara was overwhelmed with emotion when her family and adorable young son ran out to greet newly engaged couple and congratulate them! It was especially emotional as Tamara had not seen her father in some time. The family then enjoyed a private dinner in the space at a table covered in love poems chosen by Travis to celebrate their relationship.

Travis and Tamara's proposal was featured on The Knot in this article on my tips for a perfect proposal. See the full article here.

Congratulations to Travis & Tamara!

The Proposal Planner: Sunil & Reema

Sunil's proposal was one of the most unique and fun ones we have planned! Reema thought that she was on her way to a salsa class with a friend that she purchased on Groupon. We even had a fake certificate created to make sure to sell the surprise! When she arrived at the hotel, signs pointed her to the rooftop space where her "salsa class" was being held. When the elevator doors opened, Reema was greeted with the surprise of her life! Sunil had giant boards hand-painted to represent special moments in their relationship. The first panel she saw when she entered the room featured the couple's Match.com profiles which was how they met. As each of the boards was pulled away, Reema got to walk through the history of their relationship. When the final board was pulled away, Sunil was standing at the end, (gorgeous) ring in hand, ready to propose!

 Congratulations to Sunil & Reema!

The Proposal Planner: Abe & Nellie

Abe knew that he wanted to incorporate Vegas into his proposal to Nellie. The two of them absolutely loved vacationing there and if Abe couldn't bring Nellie to Vegas, he was going to bring Vegas to NYC! Nellie had no idea what was in store for her the night that Abe invited her to a "work party" on the rooftop of a luxurious NYC hotel. When the elevator doors opened, Nellie found herself in a room transformed into a Vegas casino! Abe walked Nellie to a custom craps table with "Will You Marry Me" written on it and a deck of cards listing all of the reasons he loves her. Abe then got down on one knee and popped the question! After he got the "yes" confetti cannons went off and the couples friends ran in to join them for a casino-themed party!

Congratulations to Abe & Nellie!

The Proposal Planner: Chris and Petra

Chris put his total heart and soul into this amazing proposal. He wanted to make it clear to Petra how much he adored her and how lucky he was to be with her. Thus Lucky in Love was born and became the title to this one of kind engagement. From the very beginning, a plan was set up to completely catch Petra off guard. She thought that she and Chris would be meeting with some friends from overseas for a birthday, but instead she was lead into an empty Penthouse suite with a spectacular view overlooking the city. It was flawlessly decorated and just for her. When they entered the room a huge wall mural displayed pictures of the couple. A guitarist sat in the corner and played Journey's "When A Man Loves A Woman", and the lyrics were also printed on the beautiful white runner that was laid on the floor. As the two of them walked the runner they found themselves standing under a floral arch where miniature horseshoes hung from, and all had a reason written up by Chris of why he knows he is lucky to have her. After reading every single one, Chris got down on one knee and pulled out the ring which he perfectly disguised in a Happy Birthday gift bag. The night was far from over at that point. Just as Petra was calling her friends and family to share the good news, they all appeared after waiting so patiently in the lobby, and everyone enjoyed a wonderful evening complete with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres! Congratulations Chris and Petra!

The Proposal Planner: Josh and Natalyia

Josh let Natalyia know almost everyday that she is the one he wants to spend the rest of his life with. He now was ready for that big moment to make it official, and there was no holding back with this one. The proposal started by teaming up with the interactive play, Sleep No More, where Josh was to pop the question at their exclusive rooftop restaurant, Gallow Green (before it was even open to the public!). Natalyia still had no idea, and believed that she was just another individual partaking in this interactive experience. When both of them finally met, they stood on the rooftop  inside an old vintage train car which was surrounded by pages of poetry written by Pabloe Neruda, one of the couple's favorite poet. After getting down on one knee and receiving a yes, the two of them were ushered away in a stunning 1932 Hupmobile to enjoy dinner at Natalyia's favorite restaurant, Daniel's. Josh surprised Natalyia further by having them enjoy dinner in the restaurant's private sky box and was served by the executive chef himself. The next day the couple was off to Greece and France and we couldn't be happier for them. The amazing couple's proposal was featured in the New York Post and on Good Morning America! Congratulations Josh and Natalyia!
