Our Favorite Moments with the 2023 Pantone Color of the Year - Viva Magenta
Okay, don’t get us wrong, we love a timeless color palette. Green and white have never failed us. But the reports are in and wedding experts are predicting high chances of COLOR in 2023. And to that we say- bring it on! We love playing with new and unexpected color palettes for our clients.
As an ode to this new wave of color, we decided to share some of our favorite moments with this year’s Pantone Color of the Year- Viva Magenta. Although it may seem a little bold at first glance, Viva Magenta is a very versatile color. Want it to be the star of the show? No problem! Want it to help accentuate the other colors in your palette? You got it!
Check out some of the ways that the Brilliant Event Planning Team has utilized Viva Magenta and let us know what you think!
For those who have been to the Crane Estate, you know that the historic New England venue tends to speak for itself with a picturesque mansion, green rolling hills, and stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean. However, when it came time for Gretchen and John’s big day, the two knew they wanted to add their own personal touch to the location- and a perfectly curated color palette is a great way to do just that. Mixed with lovely shades of red and pink, Viva Magenta gave the Bridgerton-esque venue a soft and dreamy ambiance that we are still fawning over.
Here at Brilliant Event Planning, we adore a dreamy Nantucket wedding. The venues alone are to die for, with visions of coastal blues and greens. But why not add a pop of color? We are obsessed with how our tablescape at the Wauwinet turned out. It’s giving us all of the chic coastal grandmother vibes we could ask for. The romantic touches of Viva Magenta provide a stunning addition to the classic blue and white color scheme that we all know and love.
Indian Fusion weddings are renowned for their extravagant and colorful celebrations. Cassandra and Ramit’s Lake Tahoe wedding was no exception. Rather than using Viva Magenta as a striking stand-alone color, it was harmoniously blended with other colors to create a bright and playful color palette. The weekend was filled with rich and vibrant shades of red, blue, green, orange, yellow, and of course, Viva Magenta. From lounge furniture at the Sangeet-Mehndi to beautiful fabrics and pillows for guests to enjoy at the Anand Karaj (Sikh marriage ceremony), Viva Magenta made a stunning addition to the couple’s destination wedding weekend.
For those of you who have already had a wedding of your own, it’s not too late! Viva Magenta looks great at any event! We love the way the different shades of pink and orange complemented each other at this children’s birthday party. With luscious florals and colorful lounge furniture- this is the perfect way to celebrate all of the little princesses in our lives.
For those who are just as obsessed with Viva Magenta as we are but aren’t quite sure if you want it to be a part of your day-of celebration, do not worry! We totally get it. Sometimes you just can’t beat a clean and simple color scheme. Plus, there are plenty of other ways to incorporate color into your wedding weekend. Rehearsal dinners and welcome parties are a great opportunity to explore a more adventurous color palette. This particular couple opted for a bolder linen with a gorgeous Viva Magenta floral print for their private residence welcome party, while their wedding day colors remained a little more classic. It’s the best of both worlds!
Rather than being the focal point at Kate and Adam’s wedding, the 2023 Pantone Color of the Year took more of a backseat role in the beautiful Buttermilk Falls celebration. Intentional touches of Viva Magenta helped accentuate the summer color palette, while still giving a sense of light and organic playfulness. Design by Ahn’s floral arrangements were absolutely spectacular. I don’t think we will ever stop talking about this show-stopping dance floor installation.
Viva Magenta has a special spot in our heart here at Brilliant Event Planning. It has been a part of many of our client’s celebrations, and we have a feeling it will be a part of many more to come.
