Grab Your Galoshes!

Hey there bride-to-be’s, expecting rain on your wedding day? Don’t fret! Successful events start with thinking ahead, and we at Brilliant Event Planning can show you just how to do that! Screen Shot 2016-02-05 at 11.40.19 AM

Have a Plan

If you’re planning an outdoor wedding, it’s important to have a backup that is both thoughtful and feasible.  Before you even sign the contract with your venue, make sure that your Plan B can be executed by your venue, and is a scenario that honors the vision of your big day.  When rain pours down, it’s very possible that your Plan B will quickly become Plan A, make sure it’s something you love!

Know When to make the Rain Call

Weather forecasts can often be fickle, making it difficult to know when you should move your outdoor ceremony indoors.  Most assume that you can make the Rain Call within a half hour before the start of the ceremony, but this can lead to all kinds of problems with vendors: florists and rental companies need to know in advance where to set up, and some may even require a 24-hour advanced notice.  Check with your vendors and set a deadline for yourself for when to make the call, and be ready to stick to it!

Say Cheese!

Whether you have to move your location from outdoors, or already planned an indoor wedding, keep in mind that rainfall does stop. If you’re feeling adventurous, snag those few minutes of sunshine and take some outdoor wedding photos that are sure to be memorable.

Bring the Rainwear

If you know in advance that your wedding day forecast calls for a drizzle, perhaps you’ll want to go ahead with the outdoor ceremony and add a twist!  Surprise and delight your guests with rain boots and umbrellas as unique wedding favors, that are both useful and adorable!

Whatever your preference may be for your big day, don’t the let weather put a damper. Take control and plan ahead, and you're sure to have a truly *brilliant* wedding!
