Summer Wedding Inspiration

Guess what? Paperless Post asked us to share some of our favorite summer wedding inspiration with you to potentially inspire future designs!

As simple as it may sound, there is no better inspiration for a summer wedding than summer itself. Summer - or l’ete as the French call it - means picnic baskets and lemonade and days by the pool. It means fresh fruit at the farmer’s market and this summer we’re all about taking inspiration from our citrus cravings. From half-orange sorbets and lemon-filled vases to watermelon canvas totes to fit welcome gifts for guests, we can’t get enough of all that juicy Vitamin C. It’s fresh, fruity, fun, and can be spun anyway you want. And the fact of the matter is? No one does color better than nature herself.

It’s a midsummer night’s dream and we’re looking toward the fragrant bohemian notes of Scandinavia. Think lush flower crowns of dark blooms and milky leaves, and exquisite white gowns of hand-embroidered lace and tiny beads. Envision flower walls of white chrysanthemum and pink peonies and layered cakes topped with strawberries as red as the rose. There is something magical and mesmerizing about this ethereal contrast of dark and light - and we can’t get enough!

We love the idea of old-school romance, but it doesn’t hurt to take a few ideas from our times. It is the twenty-first century after all! We’re talking about wedding sites for your guests (go green on the RSVP?), and cell phone charging stations (those electronics need some fuel too!). We mean Fujifilm instant cameras for a guestbook and #hashtags for the big day.
