Boston Wedding Ceremony Venues

Our Lady of Good Voyage

We were recently lucky enough to plan a wedding ceremony in the Boston Seaport at Our Lady of Good Voyage. It's a brand new Catholic church on Northern Avenue - right on the waterfront.

The chapel can hold up to 250 people and though it's made of repurposed pieces from local churches, it's a gorgeous, modern church with beautiful wood doors at the entrance. Our favorite part is the ceiling - it's designed to look like a ship's bow (since it's the church of Good Voyage)!

We really love the Old South Meeting House. It's a crucial part of Boston history - it's where the Boston Tea Party got its start and now it's located right on the Freedom Trail!

In modern times, it's a wedding planner's dream ceremony spot. The Old South Meeting House is in the center of downtown Boston. It's walking distance from many hotels and it's near popular wedding venues, like The State Room.

Did I mention it's gorgeous?!? There are wide-plank hardwood floors throughout and the backdrop behind the "altar" is filled with interesting detail that isn't over the top because of the neutral cream colors and elegant windows.

It's not a religious venue, so for couples who don't want to get married in a hotel ballroom, but who aren't religious, it's a great way to have the best of all worlds. Plus, it's a ceremony venue that will always be there - you can go back to visit on anniversaries to come!

Artists for Humanity - Epicenter

If you are looking for a Boston wedding venue with a Brooklyn-vibe, look no further than Artists for Humanity.

Their epicenter space has it all - an outdoor area, white walls that are a blank canvas for event design, and a ceiling that you can hang flowers (or other decor) from. Plus, it's located in trendy South End, Boston - right across from the Coppersmith, which is an awesome afterparty option!

AFH has a large garage-style door which opens to make the venue an indoor/outdoor space in warmer weather AND your rental fee goes towards employing youths in under-resourced areas of Boston in design-related jobs.

The ICA

The Institute of Contemporary Art in the Boston Seaport is a modern wedding venue option for couples looking to step outside of the traditional ballroom wedding, but still wanting a space that doesn't feel too rustic.

Our favorite part of this space is that it's right on the water with unparalleled views of the Boston Harbor. The ceremony and cocktail hour can be outside right on the boardwalk outside of the ICA. For the ceremony, guests sit in bleacher-style seating, so no one has a bad seat. Cocktails can be held just outside of the back entrance to the museum - no need to worry about lighting because pretty string lights are already pre-set in the space.

But, the magic really happens when guests head upstairs for the reception. The room is 50% glass with views of both Boston and the harbor. One of the walls is a giant projection screen, so you can turn the room into anything you dream of. It's a modern space that still feels intimate and immersed in the city.

This relatively new wedding venue by Longwood Events is quickly becoming a favorite for couples looking to get married in Newport - and we can see why! Have we mentioned it's right on the beach? Whether you want a toes-in-the-sand ceremony or a chic rooftop walk down the aisle, the beach is the backdrop for your "I do's".

This place was literally designed to be the perfect beach wedding venue and it makes for an amazing weekend with friends and family, as it is just steps away from all that Newport has to offer!

The Wequassett

Our team here at Brilliant Event Planning loves working in Cape Cod - it's our favorite place to be in the summer, and this classic Cape Cod wedding venue just gets prettier and prettier. The Wequassett sits right on the water - for a summer wedding in the Cape, what more could you ask for?

You can get married right on the lawn or in one of the nearby churches. For cocktail hour, their indoor/outdoor space is so pretty that you hardly need decor.

Then, guests dance the night away in the main ballroom, which is anything but. The walls are neutral-colored and one side of the room has glass windows overlooking the water.

The Wequassett is the perfect destination wedding venue outside of Boston for couples looking for a wedding weekend experience in Cape Cod!
